Greetings from the WIlmington West Rotary Club!

Greetings from the Wilmington West Rotary Club.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as Club President for 2017-2018

The Wilmington West Rotary Club was chartered in 1956. We meet on Wednesday afternoons for lunch at the University and Whist Club in Wilmington, DE. We currently have 40 members in our Rotary Club and are looking to expand membership. We are part of Rotary International, a service club association that includes approximately 34,000 Rotary clubs, with 1.2 million members, in nearly 200 countries around the world.

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. Although Rotary clubs develop autonomous service programs, all Rotarians worldwide are united in a campaign for the global eradication of polio.

Our focus this year will be our continued support of the Can Do Playground and of Camp Fairlee. We will also focus on our First Responder community which includes Police, Fire Fighters, and Emergency Medical Personnel.

The Wilmington West Rotary Club is a unique and valuable asset to the Wilmington, DE community because of the high quality of its weekly programs. Our club’s membership and speaker committee attracts distinguished speakers from numerous fields. Each Wednesday, Rotarians and guests are engaged in presentations on timely topics given by local, state, national, and international speakers.

The Wilmington West Rotary Club always welcomes visiting Rotarians for makeup meetings or to join our growing family.

We are looking for other leaders of Wilmington and the Delaware Community. If you are open to connecting with other leaders and motivated to serve our community, we’d like you to join us. Please take the opportunity to come see what the Wilmington West Rotary Club is all about!

Hope to see you soon!

Dennis J. Carradin, Jr.
